Default terms. These images are made available for viewing and reference on this website only. They are not released under any open or free licence. Reproduction, download, redistribution, public display, modification, or incorporation into any other work or dataset - including any use to train or develop machine-learning or artificial-intelligence systems - is not permitted without prior written permission. Lux Symbolica expressly reserves its rights against text and data mining.

Requesting a licence. Licences are granted case by case. To request permission, contact Lux Symbolica through the professional inquiry page, stating the image concerned, the intended use, the medium, and the duration.

Conditions of a granted licence. Where a licence is granted in writing, it will ordinarily require that: the image is credited to "Lux Symbolica"; the image is reproduced without alteration, and in particular without removing or obscuring any scale bar, measurement data, or embedded metadata, so that its value as a measurement record is preserved; and the image is not used in any way that implies endorsement, or that attributes to the specimen any claim of geographic or ethnic origin, which these measurements do not support.
